CVSS v3.1 |
There is an overflow bug in the AVX2 Montgomery multiplication procedure used in exponentiation with 1024-bit moduli. No EC algorithms are affected. Analysis suggests that attacks against RSA and DSA as a result of this defect would be very difficult to perform and are not believed likely. Attacks against DH1024 are considered just feasible, because most of the work necessary to deduce information about a private key may be performed offline. The amount of resources required for such an attack would be significant. However, for an attack on TLS to be meaningful, the server would have to share the DH1024 private key among multiple clients, which is no longer an option since CVE-2016-0701. This only affects processors that support the AVX2 but not ADX extensions like Intel Haswell (4th generation). Note: The impact from this issue is similar to CVE-2017-3736, CVE-2017-3732 and CVE-2015-3193. OpenSSL version 1.0.2-1.0.2m and 1.1.0-1.1.0g are affected. Fixed in OpenSSL 1.0.2n. Due to the low severity of this issue we are not issuing a new release of OpenSSL 1.1.0 at this time. The fix will be included in OpenSSL 1.1.0h when it becomes available. The fix is also available in commit e502cc86d in the OpenSSL git repository.
An integer overflow in FFmpeg in Google Chrome prior to 57.0.2987.98 for Mac, Windows, and Linux and 57.0.2987.108 for Android allowed a remote attacker to perform an out of bounds memory write via a crafted video file, related to ChunkDemuxer.
Integer overflow in the phar_parse_pharfile function in ext/phar/phar.c in PHP before 5.6.30 and 7.0.x before 7.0.15 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption or application crash) via a truncated manifest entry in a PHAR archive.
An exploitable integer overflow vulnerability exists in the JPEG 2000 parser functionality of IrfanView 4.44. A specially crafted jpeg2000 image can cause an integer overflow leading to wrong memory allocation resulting in arbitrary code execution. Vulnerability can be triggered by viewing the image in via the application or by using thumbnailing feature of IrfanView.
A numeric overflow in Skia in Google Chrome prior to 58.0.3029.81 for Linux, Windows, and Mac, and 58.0.3029.83 for Android, allowed a remote attacker to perform an out of bounds memory read via a crafted HTML page.
Integer overflow in base/PdfParser.cpp in PoDoFo 0.9.4 allows remote attackers to have unspecified impact via a crafted file.
Multiple integer overflows in the (1) vnc_connection_server_message and (2) vnc_color_map_set functions in gtk-vnc before 0.7.0 allow remote servers to cause a denial of service (crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via vectors involving SetColorMapEntries, which triggers a buffer overflow.
Integer overflow in the emulated_apdu_from_guest function in usb/dev-smartcard-reader.c in Quick Emulator (Qemu), when built with the CCID Card device emulator support, allows local users to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a large Application Protocol Data Units (APDU) unit.
Integer overflow in hw/virtio/virtio-crypto.c in QEMU (aka Quick Emulator) allows local guest OS privileged users to cause a denial of service (QEMU process crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code on the host via a crafted virtio-crypto request, which triggers a heap-based buffer overflow.
vim before patch 8.0.0322 does not properly validate values for tree length when handling a spell file, which may result in an integer overflow at a memory allocation site and a resultant buffer overflow.
An issue was discovered in icoutils 0.31.1. A buffer overflow was observed in the "decode_ne_resource_id" function in the "restable.c" source file. This is happening because the "len" parameter for memcpy is not checked for size and thus becomes a negative integer in the process, resulting in a failed memcpy. This affects wrestool.
An issue was discovered in icoutils 0.31.1. A buffer overflow was observed in the "extract_icons" function in the "extract.c" source file. This issue can be triggered by processing a corrupted ico file and will result in an icotool crash.
An integer overflow in the qla2x00_sysfs_write_optrom_ctl function in drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/qla_attr.c in the Linux kernel through 4.12.10 allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and system crash) by leveraging root access.
Integer overflow in sfcommands/sfconvert.c in Audio File Library (aka audiofile) 0.3.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted file.
Integer overflow in modules/MSADPCM.cpp in Audio File Library (aka audiofile) 0.3.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted file.
